The context
“Cerca de ti” (Close to you) is a daily noon-time show made by RTVE (Spain's public broadcaster) from and for the Canary Islands. It's broadcasted on RTVE's main channel “La 1”, and it goes over local current affairs, culture, personal stories and much more, all of this with the goal of entertaining the viewer.
The challenge
As the show's chyrons started to feel outdated, the team reached out in search of a new pack that fit the current brand and GFX package, but with a modern and refreshing touch.
The approach
The solution is based on the current intro of the programme. In it, several rounded rectangles (or pills) move across the screen, lengthening and shortening throughout the duration it. This resource can also be seen on the videowalls or in the transitions throughout the programme. The new chyron system designed follows the line of this resource, adapting it to a more modern and current look, without moving away from the original visual identity.
